Draft project: Play with my country
This project aims to compare geography, cultures,
languages… of the partners’ countries and communicate with students from other
countries. Students will do simple presentations on several aspects of their
country and share them with partners, they will create also online games about
geography, culture, food, sports… to test their partners’ knowledge about their
country. A mascot will
be traveling from school to school. The mascot will be in each school between 15
and 20 days, collecting postcards of each partner’s country , then it will go
to the next school according to the schedule which will be published on the
project’s TwinSpace.
The project is dedicated to
pupils between 8 and 11 years old.
The project will include 8
main activities:
- · introducing each other;
- · getting information about their country;
- · creating presentations about several aspects of their country;
- · creating online games;
- · sending materials to partners;
- · viewing presentations made by partners (and learning about their country);
- · playing games made by partners;
- · evaluating the project.
The project aims to:
- · Improve the quality of teaching approach through the exchange of ideas, collaboration, cooperation and creativity;
- · Increase students’ knowledge about their country;
- · Increase students’ knowledge of some of the cultural features of the partners’ countries;
- · Increase students’ knowledge of language and cultural diversity in the EU;
- · Help students feel part of the EU diversity of cultures;
- · Help students compare their culture with the partners’;
- · Develop a sense of belonging to an ideal of European citizenship;
- · Develop students' creativity;
- · Develop abilities of working in teams
- · Motivate pupils to use English through the practice of the four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing
- · Develop ICT skills through the use of different softwares and platforms;
- · Develop students’ critical thinking through the project evaluation.
The project will be designed and
built jointly by the different teachers involved through a shared document on
Google Drive.
The exchange of ideas between
the teachers of the project will be mainly carried out through TwinSpace, Twin-mail,
Skype, with a frequency adjusted to each activity (at least once a week).
All schools will be responsible
for the activities they will have to boost internally with their students and
whose development will be shared with images and videos on the TwinSpace.
Students will develop
activities suggested in the project, always with the supervision of several
school teachers (according to the area involved). All the activities will be
developed in groups. The project will be evaluated individually.
The calendar of activities
will be created by all the teachers involved.
